Resumption of “We meet in Paradise”

Thanks to the resumption funding from the Performing Arts Fund as part of NEUSTART KULTUR, we were able to resume our production "Wir treffen uns im Paradies" after a 5-year break.

Last year, 1513 people died on their crossing from Libya to Italy, from Turkey to Greece.

In the first half of 2022, from 1 January to 30 June, Alarm Phone was alerted to 216 boats in distress in the Central Mediterranean, 112 of which reached Europe.

We continue to see the need to sensitise people about flight and exile through this production.

On 4 September we performed in Hildesheim at the Festival Pflasterzauber and on 5 September in Northeim at the Theater der Nacht as part of the German Puppet Theatre Conference. For both performances we were joined by an ensemble of students from the University of Hildesheim, Tamino Baumgärtner, Ina Diallo, Jette Spohn and Omid Daoud. Great support and great encounters, also during the preparations for the performance!

On 26 September, we performed in Bernburg an der Saale as part of the democracy conference of the federal programme "Live Democracy!". There we were able to try out a completely new version of "Wir treffen uns im Paradies", which is particularly suitable for a small audience.
