#relating forests - Lecture on plants, humans and art with Catherin Persing
Catherin Persing has been involved in several projects. Her insightful knowledge of the relationship between plants and humans and the performativity of plants enriches our work at STILL and relating forests. She is writing a text about staging for close.r and was also involved in our Artist Lab on the topic of audience.
In the workshop, she offers insight into artistic and philosophical strategies for rethinking the relationship between humans and plants. Inspired by environmental philosopher Val Plumwood, among others, the workshop questions familiar boundaries – between body and environment, subject and object, nature and culture – and searches for forms of perception and relationship beyond fixed role models.
The artists from the Consortium will offer relaxing exercises for body and mind to accompany their lecture.

In further blog articles, we will report on the background of the project, the development of our methods and the experiences from the different countries. Follow our journey through the forests of Europe and discover how similar yet unique stories unfold everywhere.
The workshop and all activities of elating forests in Germany are funded by Creative Europe, the Standort Sicherung Foundation, Lions Lippe and the Sparkassen Foundation.
