An interdisciplinary listening trail in the forest

What does the forest tell us when we walk through it? And what does the forest mean to each and every one of us?

Under the title "Wie du in den Wald hineinrufst..." TheatreFragile invites you to an artistic parcours through the Heidental forest in Detmold.

Voices emerge from the sounds of the forest: Foresters, lumberjacks, wilderness educators and forest owners, walkers and conservationists talk about what they find in the forest: livelihood, inspiration, a reason for social commitment or simply a place to let go.

In this interdisciplinary trail, we follow in their footsteps and experience the forest from unusual perspectives. We take a new look at trees, forest floor, light and dead wood, listen to and experience the forest in all its complexity.

Due to climate change and the resulting bark beetle plague, the forest has become the focus of our attention in recent years. Deforestation and dead trees have changed the landscape of our childhood and are shaping the forests of our children.

The place, which is used in many ways as a place of recreation and as an economic resource, embodies the image of a collapsing society in many places today. Contradictory concepts and needs of our society come together in the forest.

The interdisciplinary trail can be explored and experienced by individuals or families over a period of several days. A varied programme expands the permanent installation: a live performance of bass sounds in dialogue with birdsong, plant pressure, a percussion course on trees, wood and forest floor.
